U-AX will take a normal sized SLR with or without a grip/ drive, but it is taller to allow for a hotshoe mounted flash.The camera shoots through an optical glass window at the front and there is a clear panel at the back for the viewfinder.The operation is by pressing through the flexible housing and most functions can be used as long as their buttons are not too small.
